Baby Fro Outta Control!

I know I said I'd be gone for awhile, but I got a break in training (from which I'm pretty bruised and banged up from) and had to share this picture.  My mom took this pic of Baby O at the library last week--look at that haaaaiiiiir!  Seriously, this girls hair is growing and not stopping...and I'm loving it!

A Quick Style before My So Long...for Now

Good evening, everyone!  I know, I know...I've been lacking on the posts.  I've got a really good reason, I promise.  I'm active duty Air Force and I've spent that last two weeks getting ready to deploy...meaning I'm leaving Baby O and Big J for a total of 8 months (including training time).  I've been spinning up for my deployment and spending every waking minute that I can with my kiddos!

I did manage to get one last style on Baby O last night.  I'm one of those that packs at the last minute, so I didn't start packing EVERYTHING until 7 last night...followed by bath at 10pm and hair until 11pm.  I didn't get pics last night because Baby O was asleep when I finished, I was beyond tired and had to get up waaaaay earlier than I should have on a Sunday morning in order to catch my flight.  My mom shot these pics with her cell phone and sent them to me so that I could post one more blog post before I'm off the grid for a while.

I decided to do a quick cornrow into a puff style last night, because I really needed to get to sleep and Baby O was cranky because she was so tired.  The braids and parts are off, but I was working with a bobbing head on a cranky, sleepy, ready to get to bed Baby O :-)  This style will last her for a week and is super quick and easy to do...and would have looked tons better if I had started the style before 11pm lol

I will try to check in every once in awhile, but I can't promise anything.  I will see you all at the end of the summer!  Take care and stayed blessed!

Motivational Monday: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Huffleblossoms Flowers

I'm so excited!  I was extremely lucky enough to receive a pink and leopard print hair flower with a clear rhinestone middle from Huffleblossoms by Rae and Syd (also the Mom and daughter team behind Tweeny Hair) and it is so cool!

This particular flower is made from duct tape, but there are also fabric bows for sale at Rae's Etsy shop.  Rae just opened her shop on 1 Jan and her hair flowers range from $5-6 each.  She currently has a couple of flowers posted, but Rae is open to taking custom orders for colors and styles, just email her at huffleblossoms@gmail.com.

Here's Baby O modeling her new Huffleblossoms (isn't that fun to say?) flower :-)

How freaking cute is this flower?!?!  It's perfect for Baby O's TWA and it's just as hot on her puffs and twists!

The clips are attached to a single prong alligator clip, which has a pad of felt lining the top prong that is attached to the flower.

The flower clip is about three inches wide--and very durable!

The Huffleblossom flower survived a day of rough and tumble at daycare in a room full of three and four year olds.  Baby O received a ton of compliments--how many duct tape flowers bows have you seen?!?  This is truly unique accessory and will set any style off!

Check out Huffleblossoms on Facebook and on Etsy.  Don't forget to stop by Tweeny Hair--you'll be amazed at how Mama Rae handles alllll that thick and gorgeous hair that Syd has!

Curlformers Hair Carnival and Giveaway!

It's the first Hair Carnival of 2012 and I'm so excited--the theme for this carnival is Curlformers...and a Curlformer giveaway over at Untrained Hair Mom!  Three lucky winners will win a set of Curlformers for themselves :-)  It's a great way to get curls without using heat.

I used the long and wide Curlformers on Baby O's hair a couple of months ago (post here) and it gave her nice big curls, but her hair is still really short so I decided to try the long and narrow kind to see what happened.  I put them in on damp hair and used some of my shea butter mix on the hair before putting the curlers in.

Sleeping with Curlformers
Huh?!?!  Time to do what--get up???
After removing the Curlformers...before separating the curls
Awwww--pose for the camera now!
Here is our letter for the giveaway!  Good luck!
